Let go and be free!

31st of Jan 2012

As we all know life can be a bit of a challenge at times!  This is why I felt it necessary to take a crash course in the invaluable art of ‘letting go!’   I don’t mean burying my head in the sand and pretending that things are not happening.  Rather I am learning how to wisely pick my battles, and know what to confront and what to allow to go over my head.  When life is so short, what is the point of wasting time and allowing things to eat away at me like a cancer?  Often the people who have upset, angered or offended me, are either oblivious to the fact or don’t care anyway.  So why should I allow someone else to ruin my day?  It is my day after all and how it turns out in the end is up to me!

How do you know if someone really loves you?

27th of January

Have you ever suffered from burn out after being involved in very high maintenance and painful relationships?  After a few such experiences I was left asking myself the question, “How do you know if someone really loves you “?  I used to think it was rocket science and literally impossible to know and beyond me to find out!  I have since revised my conclusion based on experience.  I now know that the answer lies in the little things.  The little acts of kindness that prove they are thinking of you much better than anything they necessarily say with grand speech.  You come to know when some one has a heart for you.  The relationship some how progresses from, “what can you do for me, and “what have you done for me lately,”  to a genuine “I love you because I choose to love you, and even if there is nothing in it for me, I still and always will love you!”  When love graduates to this, then truly at times no words are necessary because love speaks for itself, from one heart to the other!

Time is so precious!

16th of Jan 2012

Time is an extremely precious commodity that goes so quickly!  Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that there is no point in wasting any!  I have decided that I can no longer afford to allow myself to spend even a second with people who deliberately make it their life’s mission to make me feel bad about myself and my life.  There is more than enough negativity in our world so why absorb any unnecessarily into mine?  We are all unique gifts to the world, so to be the best blessing to others that I can be,  I need to be free to be me and appreciated for who I am!  To remind others around us that they are special, is often one of the greatest gifts we can give to them.
